Cupcake Pops

A couple of months ago Jen told me about these cupcake pops from a blog page she found(bakerella.blogspot.com). I tried them and they take a lot of work but they are delicious! I've been told they taste like ding dongs. All the instructions are on her site. Give them a try and let me know what you think!

Memories

I got this idea from Katrina's blog and it sounded fun so I thought I'd give it a try here. This is what you do:

Leave a comment on my blog about a memory of you and I together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, just whatever you remember. Then re-post this on your blog to see who leaves comments for you!

I look forward to a walk down memory lane! :)

Thank You!

I just wanted to give a BIG thank you to those who gave me the baby shower ideas. They were great and I really appreciated it!

The baby shower was lots of fun. It was good to be able to visit with those I don't see very often (which is pretty much everyone!). Holli is super cute and I can't wait 'till she has the baby. He'll be so cute! I planned on taking lots of pictures, but I only got one of the diaper cake I made.

These are such great center pieces and they are very easy. Some of the directions I got online said it would take me 2 hours the first time around. So, when I was done after only 30 minutes, I was worried I did it wrong. Maybe I did, but it turned out fine and I saved an hour and a half. Wahoo!

This Is The Place

This Is The Place Heratige Park had their FREE days of 47 celebration on Saturday and since we were in SLC, we decided to go. It was actually my first time going there. I had no idea they had so much to do. I thought it was just a monument and some grass. I was pleasantly surprised!

We got to ride the trains and the kids got to play some games. We also got some free pizza for lunch. It was pretty hot, but they had some troughs filled with ice and bottled water for everyone. It was great!

When we lived in Magna we loved going to the Downtown Farmers Market, so we decided to hit that as well. We didn't buy a lot, but I found this awesome booth that sold organic products. I bought some chapstick, lotion, and bug spray. I am very excited about the spary. It only has 3 ingredients. It is supposed to be awesome.

Picture Day

Lessons I learned today:

  1. NEVER take your kids to Fantastic Sams on 5600 West to get their hair cut. Especially the day before Family Pictures.
  2. NEVER take the last appointment of the day.
  3. NEVER make an appointment that interrupts dinner.
  4. NEVER arrive late to said appointment.
  5. NEVER go to a cheaper studio (i.e. Target, Wal-Mart, JC Penny, Sears) if you want a nice, relaxing session.
  6. NEVER give a sleepy child M&M's while driving to the appointment (unless you want to make a fashion statement with chocolaty drool!).
  7. ALWAYS remember that although it is hectic, it will be well worth it.

I am so thankful we have a way of capturing children just as they are - tomorrow they will be different than they were today and I'd sure hate not having those perfectly imperfect pictures. What an adventure. I'm glad it's over...until next time anyway!

Baby Shower

My friend is having a baby and I get to throw her a shower. I'm so excited...but I realized today, now that its just 15 days away, that I have no idea what I'm doing! The date and time wasn't finalized until this week, so I didn't know what kind of food to plan for. We are having it at 6:30 in the evening, so I think something dinner related would be appropriate. I can't decide if I should go all out, or just provide a light dinner and some desserts. I have been searching far and wide for some really fun shower games, but have come up empty handed. I did finally figure out what kind of invites I was going to make and I finished some today.

front / back

They ended up different than expected, but they are pretty good especially considering how NOT crafty I am! I am a little nervous about the postage. I think ribbons always end up costing more, but they are much cuter with them on, so they will stay. :)

I know you all have been to some awesome baby showers, so I would LOVE your input!
