Book of Mormon Stories

Before bed tonight, I told James that we were going to read some Book of Mormon stories...and he said, "but mom, where's the camp fire?". I guess a camp fire is now a "must" when it comes to learning stories from the scriptures. So we got out the construction paper and went to work. James was so excited!

When we were finished, we all sat on the floor around the fire and learned about the brother of Jared, the prophet Lehi, and Ammon the missionary. I think a new family tradition has just begun!

Pottery and Volacnoes

As some of you know, Chad and I took a pottery class together while I was pregnant with James and we LOVED it. It was so much fun. Now that he's back in school, he is taking another class. Today he brought some vases home that he made (and some flowers :). I love them! He is so good at it and I hope he is having as much fun this time around as we did together (well, thats not entirely true...I do hope he had more fun when I was taking it with him!). Anyway...

Every time James and I go anywhere outside we see Lava rocks...they are EVERYWHERE! So, just for fun, James, Lindsey, and I made a volcano. I was hoping to illistrate to James where the rocks come from. I know, I know, he's only 2!...but he definately gets it more now than he would have otherwise! Besides, it was just cool to watch it errupt. We had a good old time. :)

Welcome to my blog!

I'm so excited to be able share news about my family with you all. I got the idea from my old college roommate, Lynzie, who set up a cute page of her own...Thanks Lynz!

We have been living in St. George for six months now and we love it (although, we might be singing a different tune when the temp. gets above 110 this summer)! James loves living so close to the temple and there is an endless supply of places to go outdoors.

We try to spend a lot of time outside. The weather is beautiful this time of year. We have only had a few weeks of cold, so most of the winter has been nice. It is also very beautiful. We love hiking and looking for rocks. Kyle and Lindsey moved down in December and usually come with us on our search for treasures!

Chad is working for Home Depot and is going to school full-time. It keeps him extremely busy, so James and I get to spend lots of extra time together. He is majoring in Computer Science and when he's finished he wants to be a computer programmer.

We are having fun living by Mom, Ted, Zach, Kyle and Lindsey...it's been an adventure! We also miss seeing all of you. Thankfully St. George is only a few short hours away!
