Oil

Have you ever thought of using essential oils? I've heard of them in passing, but never actually gave much thought to them myself. I was visiting with a friend the other day who was telling me all about them (thanks Emili!). I got this awesome feeling when we were talking about how wonderful they are. I have always been interested in natural healing but it seemed so complicated before. I got some from her today and I'm so excited!

J. got sick a couple weeks ago. At first he was croupy at night, he's been sneezing, has a runny nose - don't worry, he doesn't have "swine flu". He's mostly better now but he coughs all night sometimes. It drives me CrAzY! He doesn't sleep well, which means that I don't either... you know how it is. Anyway... so tonight he just couldn't fall asleep because he couldn't stop coughing. I rubbed some of the oil on the bottom of his feet and in a matter of minutes he quit coughing, relaxed, and fell asleep! YeHaw! I'm seriously sleeping with some by my bed so that when he gets up in the middle of the night and gets in my bed coughing I can just re-apply.

I can't tell you how excited I am that this worked. Like I said, it's been weeks and I've been going insane! When he first had a hard time sleeping I went to the pharmacy to get some cough medicine but they told me you can't give it to kids his age. I was so disappointed, but now I have this. I actually think it's better because there's not all that extra junk in it. The oils are 100% nat-u-ral!

I am just starting to use the essential oils, but I can already feel that it's going to have a big impact. I know it sounds cheesy, but I feel so inspired! Heavenly Father has given us this world and everything on it that we need to take care of ourselves. Plants aren't just for beautifying... I know they can heal. I also know I have a lot to learn about them, but I'm so glad to finally be partaking of something pure, not synthetic. Thanks for reading...I'm so excited I just had to share. :)

A little extra money!

Who doesn't want that these days? I sure do!

Many of you know that I have a vinyl cutter. I've recently decided that it doesn't get used nearly enough (especially since it was so expensive!) so I'm going to extend it beyond my own personal use.

I know that there are a million places to buy vinyl these days. If you are in the market for some lettering, I promise that I will try to give you the BEST possible deal if you buy from us. I know how it feels to go to one of those awesome catalog parties and not be able to purchase anything. It stinks! I hope that won't be the case here.

I've created a blog for the vinyl. I'm still in the process of working on it. Eventually I want to have a picture of all the "extras". There are so many that I've yet to figure out how to display them. I would also like for you to be able to see what the font's look like. Most of them can be viewed in the 'fonts' tab of a word processing program (just a little f.y.i in case you were interested!). Your patience with my lack of blog skills is appreciated!

Wicked Snow

I'm so glad Wicked came to Utah and that we were actually Lucky enough to go! It was fun to get all dressed up and go on a date with the hubby. The musical was great, of course. :) I hope you have the opportunity to see it sometime.


We were there during that crazy snow storm N. Utah had last week. Most of the time I don't miss the snow but I remember how much fun it was to play in as a child and it makes me feel bad for J. Thankfully Mary pulled out some snow clothes and he was able to play for the first time this "winter".

Isn't he so cute in his mittens, "flood" pants, and cowboy boots? :)

This was going to be the base of our snowman. His middle section broke into pieces as we were trying to lift it so instead of a man we just had a ball...but hey, the kids had a "ball" playing with it so it worked out in the end. :)

Wicked

I am so excited that Wicked is coming to SLC! Mary, Matt, Hubby, and I are all going next week. We couldn't get tickets together so we are all sitting in different rows...but hey, we get to see wIcKeD! I love the music and I've heard the play is just as awesome. In honor of our upcoming trip, I thought I'd add some music for your listening pleasure. Hope you enjoy it! :)
