The good, the bad, and the ugly?
I made another cake this weekend. I wasn't going to post it because it's not so great, but i thought if I get to post the good (see Wii cake below), I have to post the ugly as well. Even though it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, it was still fun to make. I really like doing theme cakes... they're so fun!

Economic Hardship
We all know the economy is not so great. We have been hearing of job losses for months now. I knew there were many who were struggling, but I never imagined the bad economy would hit so close to our home. Starting at the end of November the hubby's job cut his hours down to one shift a week. Obviously that can cause a whole lot of problems for a household. Thankfully Chad was able to work for his dad for a week or two and a friend of mine had some work I could do for her. The best part of all of it was the time hubby got to spend at home. I loved having him here all the time. It was so much fun. Last week his work called and said someone had quit and he was being transferred to that department. What a huge relief! I was getting more and more worried as more time went by. So, this week his hours have been more where they should be and I miss him terribly! He is such a blessing to our family...more than I think he knows.
I have learned a lot of lessons lately...Lessons I hope I never have to re-learn! I know Heavenly Father is aware of us and He has blessed us greatly. What a year! I hope things are beginning to settle a bit. :)

Wii Cake
Chad made the buttons on the controller for me.
He did an awesome job and saved me tons of time.
He also made the Luigi (sp?) and the red mushroom. I LOVE making theme cakes like this one. They're so much fun!

The Importance of Walking
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $7000 per month.
My grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old
and we don't know where he is.
I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.
I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.
I do have flabby thighs,
but fortunately my stomach covers them.
The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'
If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.
We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
This one's my favorite:
Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate!
